Majd Hammoudeh
(she/her)
Grew up in Jordan, living between Budapest, Hungary and Berlin, Germany.

Majd is on her PhD journey, researching mindfulness from an organizational and sociological  point of view. She is part of a prospective research proposal for maturing mindfulness research across Europe.

After working in a city with a triggering work environment, as well as having to live in one city and work in another, Majd’s everyday thought was "there must be another way to this.” This experience, combined with her reading during a daily bus commute, inspired her research into mindfulness.

Majd maintains objectivity in her research by attending to the criticism of mindfulness and its implementation in the modern world. This approach has enlightened her perspective into mindfulness and allows her to do her research in a sensible and appropriate manner.

Majd has integrated mindfulness into every aspect  of her life. It is the reason for her continuous curiosity, and gladly helps her sustain her  sanity.

Majd spent three years working with UNHCR (The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) in the partnership and program management unit. This experience deeply enriched her knowledge of the needs of United Nations staff members, both in headquarters and the field, and enriched her knowledge of the UN system itself. Majd is also a researcher and lecturer at the university level.
